... the hill, as it looked down upon the town, we cycled to the sports grounds. There were the girls with their crew. They were all really nice people. There was soccer on the pitch so we had to go over to the park. The game was awesome. It’s like force back if you know it. I scored three times and threw some nice passes. After the game we said our goodbyes and headed. The following day was a hotel day to prep for our 22 hour bus ride to Reno. The bus station had said ...
Rexburg, Idaho, United States jeydoublesyou... about as if frozen in place, cameras at the ready. It blew long enough for me to zoom in and get 3 shots.
With only 27 miles to the East entrance and on to Cody, I felt I was making good time when all of a sudden there was a row of stopped cars, people rushing into the road with cameras (reminded me of the "disaster movies" where the crowds are trying to run away). Turned out there was a large fuel spill up ahead and we all ...
... laptop and camera is time consuming.
Have to admit I kinda hit a wall yesterday. Felt like the full moon and little gremlins were at work to discourage me from continuing. Tonight it will be early to bed with my book 'cause tomorrow we are off toward West Yellowstone. Sorry no photos - can't get new camera to download them. Drat.
... roads. You know, sometimes you just have to unhook from the camper and venture off into the backroads. We have been driving hard for 7 days now and feel like we need a little rest and relaxation. I went to Albertson's today. Wow!!! Cokes for $10 for 4-12 packs. Things are back to normal. I forgot to tell you that there must be an invisable border between the north and the south kind of like the Mason Dixon Line that divides our country into where you ...
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States schroederd... of Idaho. Many parts of Idaho reminded us of the Ottawa Valley. In Idaho Falls we met an old friend of mine from high school, Carolyn Salmon. She was working so we toured around the city ourselves visiting the falls and the beautiful area around the LDS Temple. We had supper and a lovely visit with Carolyn and her husband and camped outside their home for the night
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States rosemarys... but we navigated it safely together and had heaps of fun. I think Zac surprised himself with how much fun he had in this tunnel. He begged for more, but time, the weather and the time of year worked against that. With his junior ranger badge secured, we drove on towards Idaho Falls, another pleasant little city. This time, the falls were more obvious - like right in the middle of town and across the road from our motel. Once ...
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States cdcass... out and I had no idea if I could still ride a horse with my back and knee the way they were, however I couldn't let this opportunity slip away without giving it a try. I'm so glad I did! I learned I can still ride a horse and it actually felt pretty good on the back (I'm thinking that's what pain medication is for too) My legs were pretty sore but I wasn't going to fess up to it. I had a great time.
... the babies. I learned they have to tag them the day they are born or they won't be able to catch them very easily. We tried to catch a few that were born the other day and they were already fast on their feet and smart enough to hide in the brush where the truck couldn't follow them.
There were also baby goats at Katie's brother's house.
... grate in the parking lot. There were interesting rock formations everywhere, and buildups of calcium carbonate around all of the thermal pools where the water bubbled up and deposited them over the years. We waited about an hour to see "Old Faithful" erupt, and it was worth the wait. It looked just like it did on my Crayon box when I was a kid (anyone remember?). It was a sight to see ...
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States captnoindustry... saved the interstate system only for last resorts and the entire stretch of I-84 disappointed both of us. In fact it was the biggest disappointment of the entire trip. All the memories we have of Idaho are of flat farm lands with a constant stench of manure. It never changed until we got into the desert of eastern Oregon. We regretted not taking the back roads when we should have most, but at the same time we did chop quite a bit of distance off in a good amount of time.
