A quick study of our travel apps has led us to a trip to Stanley today. It is on the opposite side of Hong Kong Island and the metro and a bus trip is the way to arrive at your destination. We have some Chinese currency left so I have taken them to the bank for exchange but what an ordeal. What a day! We started with a trip back to Ikea to buy shelving for the pantry in the apartment. To get to Ikea it is a little bit of walking, train for one stop then some more walking. We had decided last night that we could manage to carry each of the pieces home between us, so we purchased all the bits then Norm pulled the trolley with the shelves while the rest of us carried a side each (see photo). ... of Soho offering a delicious cacophony of bars and restaurants. We then wandered down Hollywood Road to the Man Mo Temple. The Temple offered an interesting contrast to the busy, built up streets that was our experience of Hong Kong to date. On our way home we visited the Graham Street Market full to bursting with weird and wonderful foods...including some very live and still jumping fish!

... and people - maybe because of the Chinese New Year Holidays - but it does seem quite strange to be in a large city for it to be so quiet. Shenzhen has a lot of trees and gardens planted along the streets and parks which gives the city quite a pleasant atmosphere.
