Arrived in Weed,Ca at about 5 pm and found the RV park at the foot of Mt Shasta, only a smattering of snow on its slopes now.
Maggie coped admirably , despite the unfamiliarity of the moving vehicle the heat and the strangeness of it all. She is worn out now and asleep on the drivers seat.
Tomorrow we will explore Mt Shasta's trails before heading north to Crater Lake.
I admit, I'm dragging my feet...getting home. What a culture shock! It was sad taking leave of my two friends, Terri and Lu, and I think Jake will miss Captain. ... It was really fun to stop riding and tell some tales of the road with some other cyclists and some seriously crazy "weight weanie" PCT hikers. Compared to them the cyclists are like RVers taking everything and the kitchen sink. Hiker Box Special went so far as to give up his stove because cooking his food was slowing him down.
