      Another beautiful, sunny morning here in Satellite Beach, Florida! And yes, we are still awaiting the birth of Baby Barth! While Makana has all of the signs of imminent birth (nesting, nesting, and more nesting!), the little one is still happy to kick, stretch, and "swim" right where s/he is. Makana and Gil go to the midwife today for a weekly check up and we are hoping to learn more after 4:00pm today! ...

      ... their eggs. No lights are allowed as this disorients the turtles, and the turtles will go back in the ocean. We look for trails. I noticed a dark object moving very slowly out of the ocean and up onto the beach. It takes about an hour for the turtles to lay their eggs. The turtle lays some eggs, covers the eggs with sand, lays eggs, covers with sands, and continues this process until done.
