... 705am. This is going to be the new system that takes astronauts into space in hopefully 2018. We decided we should head down to see this historic event. We were up at 430am and headed to find the best position we could find to see the launch. Some people had driven and camped overnight. We found a spot on jetty point beach and waited with the other’s that had gathered. There were a few space geeks amongst them so they kept us in the ...

Monday day 6 - We arrived here Wednesday with the intention of spending 3 days exploring the Kennedy Space Center and the surrounding area. Upon arriving at the Visitors' Center we learned that there was to be a rocket launch that evening at 6:59 from Cape Canaveral. We were excited that we had arrived in time to see a United Launch Alliance Delta IV rocket launch into orbit. The payload include 2 satellites whose purpose will be to ...

Makana and Gil had the same rabbi who married them perform the ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Gil's family (dad, mom, grandmother, and sister) plus close friends of the family came from Orlando as well as local friends of Gil and Makana's. Makana's dad, brother, Bob, and I made up the rest of the celebration. We ...

We left Apex, NC this morning at 6 AM and 77 degrees and headed south. This was the longest driving day yet. We arrived in Satellite Beach at 5:30 PM. We would have been here sooner but for a few hick-ups along the way...an over-crowded Subway Shop, which cost us 45 minutes, and an accident in Jacksonville (not ours), which had traffic tied up for about an hour. As a matter of fact, we saw a lot of accidents today. It appears ...

... their eggs. No lights are allowed as this disorients the turtles, and the turtles will go back in the ocean. We look for trails. I noticed a dark object moving very slowly out of the ocean and up onto the beach. It takes about an hour for the turtles to lay their eggs. The turtle lays some eggs, covers the eggs with sand, lays eggs, covers with sands, and continues this process until done.
