    ... thunder directly overhead. How quickly weather can change. We bolted outside and tried to get the last few things finished before the rain started…we weren’t successful. There is nothing like raising stabilizer jacks and unhooking and stowing electrical cords in the pouring rain. We were pretty well drenched before we dove into the truck and started out trek back to the U.S of A.

    ... be hot. It ends up being not so bad, although we are quite worn. Shortly after starting we pass by a bunch of rangers. Near the top a guy passes by whistling the Star Wars theme. I think it is funny and we continue on shortly discover that yes, there is a tunnel. We pass through, after a short stop, and are nearly in a different world. There is another cirque with much steeper sides and a path carved in the wall slowly wrapping around and descending (w/o switchbacks even).

    ... Tour tomorrow from 9am – 5pm (http://glacierredbustours.com). We wanted to check out where we would be picking up the bus, so we drove over to the Glacier Park Lodge, in East Glacier.

    ... a post card for his friend who complained that he didn't get a postcard from us two weeks before we left for the trip! Rob is over compensating by sending him lots of postcards now.     ... We made a plan to drive the road that crosses from the western to eastern end of the park making some key stops along the way. Known as Going-to-the-Sun-Road, we drove from a starting elevation of just over 3,000 ft to the top of the pass at 6,600 ft, steadily climbing a barely two lane road that overlooks the deep valley carved by glacial ice thousands of years ago.
