      ... As with
healthcare, though, an industry I’ve studied more, I suspect a contributing factor
is a general upscaling of the experience as institutions like colleges and
hospitals that aren’t subject to normal market forces compete to attract

Had a perfect travel day yesterday. Actually got away early, 8:45, and had beautiful cold clear weather all day. It was only once we got close to Portland that we saw any snow at all and there it was only deep in the bush. But shortly after we stopped for the night the snow started. It looks like we got about 3" overnight. Luckily we're heading south! Had great Chinese food last night. Who knew we'd find it in Maine! Here's what morning looked like - winter ...

As we entered the commons the first thing we noticed was the large lake that only 3 days earlier was filled with geese was now all of a sudden frozen solid, around the edge there were plenty of men daring each other to test whether it would take their weight or not. I offered to video their attempts and Cathy shook her head and just looked at me.. ...

... There were cute little houses everywhere too. We saw a very cool abandoned railway that we had fun taking photos of.... it was very cold so we were basically jumping out of the car, taking photos and then jumping back in the car! After finding Fryeburg we drove on to Conway, just to see more snowy areas. It was just this lovely day driving around the gorgeous countryside and then returning to Portland..... where we had tea on a restaurant inside ...

... beach which was about 2 miles away but it was worth it. The Atlantic waves were a surfers dream today! We sat on the beach for a couple of hours then wandered back to our room stopping at the local shop for food. Because its not summer here anymore (you could of fooled me at 25 deg) there isn't any public transport so think we will hire some bikes tomorrow and ride to the next town along the ...
