... s exactly how long it took us to get there, and for the first time on this trip, WE MISSED OUR TRAIN! Called amtrak and got booked onto the last train of the night leaving at 11, and went to a nearby sports bar to kill time until then. Maine was beautiful! And a joy to see our old friend Nils for the first time in over a year. Friday morning we drove to the neighboring town of Ogunquit, a picturesque coastal town with beautiful changing ...

For lunch we heading to Ken's Place for clam strips and lobster rolls then to the pier to see the water and walk around a bit. Most shops were closed for ...

Back out onto highway 28 with a couple of stops at view points. Wes found a sign for highway 28A to Alton Bay. This road wound around through the forest gradually descending to the lake to arrive in a lovely place. There were dozens of boats out on the lake and many people out on the waterfront enjoying the sunshine. It was ...

... could live here...the margaritas were terrific! We rode bikes all around the area but especially loved the Gooch Beach area and gorgeous homes. If you go, take the trolley ride and get the local tour. It is short but really fun and it takes you out to see the Bush's compound on Walker Point. After several nights here we are off to Jackson, New Hampshire after driving south to ...
