As we topped a hill in one part of the drive, a motorist was in the middle of the highway waiving a flare to get people to slow down from both directions. As we passed a stopped car in the roadway, we saw the reason, the car had hit a mature doe. The deer had died, but all of the people in the car that struck the deer were OK - and it didn't look like too much damage ...

    ... rangers wished us to camp on, so we plodded along getting our feet wet until we found the perfect spot. And that we did. What a gorgeous place to camp... The sound of running water from the river, and a backdrop on all sides of huge grandness that makes you feel humble.
