This would be a great place to stay if it wasn't for the fog. it is only in summer. The room was comfortable and clean. Close to the beach and good value with a breakfast included in the price. Also close to Hearst Castle.

Best inn I've stayed in so far. Nothing fancy, but for the location it's got the best prize/value relation.
Clean rooms with a beatiful ocean sunset view. Big comfy beds. Breakfast offers the basics like toast, coffee and juice, though seating space is sparse.

... 25min trip. Car was running a little low on fuel - 40 mile range but should be easily doable... 45 mins and 24 miles later we arrive at nepenthe We had a superb meal there sat on the veranda with the heaters on. Of course when we got back to the car at around 10 in the pitch dark we were slightly concerned - tis not recommended to drive that road at night - it's full of twists an turns and vertical drops! ... moment. The past and the future will take care of themselves. I see how my multitasking takes me out of the moment and is based in fear that I cannot trust everything will get done in it's right timiing. One thing this trip keeps showing me time and time again is, things get done in their perfect timing. So I might as well relax and flow with the present. I cannot improve upon the Master Plan only participate in it! Thank ...

... The ride up was honestly terrifying - the bus was rather tall, the grounds extremely steep, and the only way up was a tight and winding road. I tried to pay attention to all the information being told us by our guide, but I was a little preoccupied by the tilting and lurching and turning of the bus. I did get some good photos.
