It's a beautiful day today. We decided to go see all of the stuff at the Dam site.
Garrison Dam, the power plant, fish hatchery and the spillway. We roamed the valleys and hillsides and even walked a sandy beach (I really hate the texture of sand!)
The dogs (especially Dasher) never seem to tire of running in the tall grass.

We found Lake Sakakawea completely by accident.
We were trying to find someplace nice to go in North Dakota and decided we wanted some lake time. We found this lake on the map just north of where we had stayed the night before and thought, what the heck! ... got back to Hazen. We were all very tired by the time we got home.
We got one of the Christmas trees from the Knife River Chorale and decorated it. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it might be to sort through our many boxes of decorations to find the items for the tree and a few other things that we put out in the kitchen and living room. Sunday morning we went to Steve's promotion ceremony at the National Guard Armory, played games in the afternoon and then came back to Hazen so we can get ready to fly out to WA on Tuesday morning.
Guess this means our winter trip to the Southwest is officially complete for this year!

... cupboards were pretty bare! We didn't have a very good turnout but those of us that attended had a very nice evening. We learned that one of our members Marie & her husband Cole Johnson are expecting a second baby in August or September. That's exciting for them and us.
