It's a beautiful day today. We decided to go see all of the stuff at the Dam site.
Garrison Dam, the power plant, fish hatchery and the spillway. We roamed the valleys and hillsides and even walked a sandy beach (I really hate the texture of sand!)
The dogs (especially Dasher) never seem to tire of running in the tall grass.

... exploration which means that Mike is off on hikes no matter what. I get to set up camp (push a few buttons and set out the napkin dispenser) and start dinner, which iS THE BEST MEAL WE HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME!
My sister Vicki and her fiancÚ Bob gave us some elk loin before we left Montana. OMG!!! Heaven! (not to brag or anything, but damn it was delicious!)
Tomorrows forecast calls for beautiful weather so we shall go explore then.

... could get ready for company on Christmas Day. The kids all drove up together and Mom & Dad came from Rugby that afternoon. We had turkey dinner about 4:00, opened gifts, played dominoes and started a puzzle. The grandkids spent a lot of time playing pool and ping pong over the next few days.

Sunday morning we went to Steve's promotion ceremony at the National Guard Armory, played games in the afternoon and then came back to Hazen so we can get ready to fly out to WA on Tuesday morning.
Guess this means our winter trip to the Southwest is officially complete for this year!

That night was New Year's Eve so we went to church for the worship service and the game night after that. Wayne played pinochle all night. I played bonco and then pinochle. It was fun and again we got to see several of our church friends. We did manage to stay until past midnight so brought in the New Year. Of course, there was lots of good food which we enjoyed all evening.
