Somewhat reluctantly we left the desert heading west to California. We drove along the Parker Valley hugging the Colorado River, over a hundred miles of lush, green hayfields on native reservation land including, of course, the usual casino. One interesting stop was the George Patton Museum. It explained in depth his role in WWII, delving into both the good and not so good aspects of his career.

... to explore the town and have a nice lunch. Ever since I saw Sonoma on The Bachelor when Ben was on it, as it was his home town I thought it looked so nice and it was! Sonoma is bigger than Healdsburg but has the same town square in it so they look similar. I walked around and looked at all the shops and also saw a heap of small wineries in town, including Ben's so it was the perfect first town to visit in wine country.

In the late afternoon we took a drive over to check out the Napa Elks Lodge in regard to their RV Parking opportunities, as we will need a place for next week, hopefully one that is a little less expensive than here.
