    Our backpacks are ready! Gosh they are heavy. Patricia's is 48 pounds. Mine is 53 pounds. Heavy, but they have to carry five days of food in a bear canister. We'll be o.k.
    It's dawn and our good friends Paul and Beth Salyers show up with their taxi service to Yosemite National Park. Away we go!

    ... in the car....and we depart...so many hands waving from the house. And the crazy drive begins. Indian music is on the radio. The boys up front are chatting in Malayalam.
