        When we woke up this morning at about 8:30, we felt like we'd slept in so much as normally we are up by 6am...but it feels so good to sleep in an actual bed.

        Bonnie and Jim cooked us breakfast which was forget how nice it is not to have cereal with luke warm almond milk.

        We wanted to see a bunch today as we are planning on heading off soon to catch up with another friend in Yosemite.

        We had another really good sleep and were so hungry when we woke up!

        It was Labor Day today so lots of places have unusual opening hours or aren't open at all....but the one place we knew would be open was IHOP! We had a good breakfast and then made our way to Bonnie and Jim's place (Bonnie is my mum's cousin)

        ... 8230;he donated his place and land and there was also a field with Bison in which Walt Disney gave to him back in 1962.

        Once we had eaten, rested in the shade and played some Frisbee we found the Train Station to stay at overnight as not many other places seemed to allow it.

        Just before we settled down, we made a quick stop at the Ben and Jerry store to sample some of their ice ...

        ... the New Year countdown but the shrinkage meter was so high (...or was it so low?) that we decided to just stay home to watch it.

        Cin's told you about our experience with picking up the rental car. The good thing is that, since our last visit to the US, service levels have got up 100 fold! The people were so helpful here that it surpassed our expectations. In fact, I got my stick from the wife than I did from grumpy attendants ;p

        ... br> stars embedded in the pavement. It was at Gruman's Chinese Theatre that we found the imprints of star's hands and feet in the pavement. Tried to get up to the famous Hollywood Sign but road closed because of fire risk.
        Diverted to Griffiths Observatory, for some stunning views and sunset over downtown LA.
        Monday a work day for Mark and Yoshie, so we strolled ...
