... and home to the Book of Kells. Tons of literature biggies reside from Dublin (Yeates, Shaw, Swift...), and there are statues all over commemorating their work. We had our last dinner at a place that Matt found that had "boxty" on the menu, which is a potato pancake/crepe type of thing. I've been wanting it since we got to Ireland, including corned beef and hash, and this was the only place we saw it on the menu. Corned beef was no place. At all. I was a bit ...

      Eagles vs. 49er's

A travel blog entry by jjmccarthy90 on Sep 27, 2014

Dad, Mom and I stayed at the Hilton right by the new stadium. It was the second home game for the 49er's in the stadium. We ate dinner and had drinks next door at the Hyatt where we saw Cole, Thornton, Taylor Hart (Mom's friend "Gross Family" is engaged to his), among many other eagles we could no recognize.

Jordan and Alex came down to go to brunch with us then the game of Sunday. The Eagles lost in a close ...

Since our departure from Sydney the adventure continued. As we have realized is typical, Niklas and Addison were brilliant in their handling of a 13+ hour flight and a 16 hour time change. They thought it was pretty cool to live Tuesday twice since we left at 2:45pm Tuesday and landed in San Francisco at 11:20am Tuesday! Time travel is so cool when you are 7 (or 37 in Sag's case :) ) For the first time in our entire trip today Niklas asked to go home. They ...

... already. Because of the whole hostile atmosphere, I didn't bother saying anything, just turned around and stood in the entrance to the concourse for a bit.

It was terrifying. Stressful isn't in it! It was like attending a bar brawl, where a football game had broken out in the background and no-one was taking any notice of it. Totally weird. A lot of people seemed to be drunk, or high...and there were a lot of kids about too.

      I don't regret ...

Airports can be frustrating. I might have awoken my last morning in Europe wishing I didn't not have to leave, but a few minutes at the airport and all I wanted was to get home. And don't get me started on customs. Of course after getting over jet lag after a few days, I was back to wishing I hadn't left. It was truly was the trip of a lifetime. I saw so many wonderful things, it ...
