A travel blog entry by jjmccarthy90 on Sep 27, 2014

Dad, Mom and I stayed at the Hilton right by the new stadium. It was the second home game for the 49er's in the stadium. Jordan and Alex came down to go to brunch with us then the game of Sunday. The Eagles lost in a close ...

Anne and I sate in row B, seats 9 and 10. We saw two home runs splash into the bay, the second being the game winner in the 10th. ...

... at a quirky little cafe in Oakland. Whilst eating a group of guys came in for their lunch all dressed in scrubs. It was a bit of a culture shock seeing them sat eating in a cafe in scrubs seeing as we aren't even allowed to get the bus home in our uniform! I'm sure this will be the first of many differences I'll see. I just spent the rest of the day finding out how I'm going to get to the hospital tomorrow & catching up on emails ...

... 42 was launched. The museum is extraordinary: many of the ships major compartments and areas are open to the public, from the engine room to Helmsman's position and the Air Boss's flight control position atop the island. The exhibits range from sailor's memorabilia to multi-media presentations on the Hornet's role in Desert Storm to aircraft from WWII to Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf. The advertising suggests allowing two and a half hours for a visit. ww's opinion is that 2.5 ...
