... a deeper way, maybe a little more nostalgically. It’s the old adage “How can I miss you if you never go away?”

Why travel? Travel is the thing that makes you bigger inside. The images and people, the smells and tastes create more room for you to grow and understand, more room to take in more of the world. Hopefully it makes us wiser, but if it doesn’t, I hope it makes us more humble and tolerant. At least I hope it does for ...

    Day 17 - Yosemite NP

Woke up feeling pretty good today, slightly sore butt muscles but otherwise no worse for wear from yesterday's walk. Had a cruisy day today. Caught the shuttle to observe El Capitan and listened to some rock climbers talk about their sport - bloody crazy people. Super interesting though. So its about 12 noon (our flight is at 2:40) and we’re first at the United Checkin counter.
United guy - “Your flight has been cancelled”. Me - “You’re kidding right - its April 1, good April fool’s joke, I like the sense of humor, thats really funny”. Him - “No, really, its cancelled”. ...

... the only time we got wet or cold was really driving through the mist from San simeon to Monterrey. After 3weeks on the road that's pretty impressive and has been remarked upon by a few people we talked with. The worst conditions were not the heat or mist, it was the wind and the worst wind contained sand when heading into Kayenta, it was incredible. - never spend a minute more on an interstate than you have to. This goes back to inconsiderate driving, but they ...
