... 8211; 1550. We climbed into the few with simple pine ladders made of whole branches/trees. There were a long wall of dwellings they called the "Long House", where you could see the remains of the cave homes, and holes where pine logs had once supported shelters or roofs. Way high up on the face of the cliffs were rock art drawings of birds, dogs, people and designs. Amazing that they are still there after all these years, especially ...

We spent most of the morning walking around the touristy section of Taos. At around 12:30 we stopped at "Taos Diner II" for lunch, this place was really good and we are beginning to realize that the food options are extensive in this town. We are now down to 15 riders: Dr Tom, Jim, Tim, Tom, Rob, Christian and Jacqueline, Father Bruce, Larry and Kelli, Steve, Brett , Don and us.

... and artistic, and.....well, kind of hippie looking but very cool to see. We didn't want to pay the money to get in the visitor center, so we just looked and photographed them from the outside. Some were even for sale. The thing I couldn't figure, was how they could charge $365,000 for a three bedroom home made with all recyclable materials (couldnt have cost much in materials???) The land was just desert and outside of Taos, ...

... two room house... and a few small office spaces, and that's it. We were going to come a night earlier and spend the night but a darned snow storm came through Santa Fe that didn't allow us to leave on time to get here before the close at 4:00pm. The RENTALS start at $130 a night. Pretty sure you could get a pretty decent hotel in Taos for that price. After spending the night a year ago at Arcosanti for $35 ...
