In 1955 a 14 yr old boy, from Chicago visiting relatives, named Emit Till was kidnapped and murdered near Greenwood and his mother insisted that his coffin should remain open at his funeral in Chicago for the world to see his disfigured face. The Police in the South arrested two white men who were found not guilty because nobody could prove the body found was Emit.

I got to Greenwood about 9:30 and the museum was shut, good job ...
