... today. It reminded me of a small Las Vegas with casinos, locations for weddings, wax museums; Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum, and bright lights. In 1901, Mrs. Anne Taylor a 63 yr old school teacher was the first person to go over the falls in a barrel. My information didn’t state if her students put her in the barrel, or she was just fed up. The US side of the Falls is a State Park so is much more natural that the Canadian side, which was a nice change. We wandered around the, I tripped over air, and we headed down towards Prospect Point. Mildly accosted by an American chap whose nan hadn't crossed the Atlantic in the Titanic.

To end the day we drove north along the Niagara Parkway - as Winston Churchill says "the prettiest Sunday afternoon drive in the world" and we just happen to come across Pellar Estate Winery in time for a wine tour!!

While in Niagara we picked up lovely Fresh Strawberries which I was surprised to see given the short growing season & that the corn crop has only just started ...

... ve been avoiding the Interstates, which we try to do whenever we can and, as in the past, that's worked out very well. We've been staying close to the Lake Erie shore the last two days. The homes along the shoreline reminded us of what you would see along the Lake Michigan shore around the New Buffalo area and along Michigan's Red Arrow Highway. A stop for lunch Tuesday put us in Ripley, New York, the VERY first town you ...
