Water, water, water
... and the ride on the Maid of the Mist boat which goes to within 150 feet of the bottom of the canadian falls. You get issued with plastic ponchos in both places - but the spray is like the heaviest rainstorm so inevitably you get pretty damp.

Day 8 (NUEC Day 4)
... New York (Niagra is actually on the border between USA and Canada, the US side is in New York state) there is so much green! We're winding between some large-ish mountains and along the Susquehana river. All of the mountains and all along the river are completely covered in trees. It's really beautiful. Dan says that this is one of his favorite drives in the US.

We stopped at Niagara Falls State Park after crossing the U.S./Canada border. Crossing the U.S. border is one of the slowest processes ever. But we stopped at the falls, and boy was it ever worth it. Overnight with a view
I must admit I didn't spend much time in Buffalo, as it was just a place where we spent the night during our weekend at the Niagara Falls. The Hotel was great anyway: probably one of the best beds I've ever slept in! It's not in the town centre (closer to Lake Erie) but from the windows, I got a great view of the town. Great value for your money!

Thundering Water.
... Falls so that we were surrounded on 3 sides by tumbling, thundering water. It was unbelievable. Words can’t even describe it…this was the ultimate evidence of the power of nature. The Maid of the Mist just floated there on the spot, rolling around on top of the choppy, post waterfall, Niagara river.
