    Up at 9am. Had hostel breakfast. The hostel was pretty cool, in a big old house (potentially haunted). Booked a hostel in Las Vegas and downloaded directions. Left hostel about 11am. Went to supermarket to pick up food for lunch (Jack bought the biggest box of cookies ever). Sacramento was much quieter than we expected, definitely a change of pace from San Fran and LA.     ... the Americans claim it is the biggest human construction feat since the pyramids. Approx 400 people died whilst it was being constructed. We went on the dam tour which takes you into the power plant and through some tunnels below the dam wall.
