... humid) and we were on the way to Destin which was halfway between Clearwater and New Orleans. It was a 6 hour drive so I wasn't particularly looking forward to it... Clearwater was a great stop, it was fun having the dog and good company in the apartment and the beach was ok. It probably was a bit too touristy for me. A lot of billboards and signs and American chavs possibly. The sea was lovely but the apartment made up for it and at least we got to visit the restaurant ...

... be that she is a local.

After an overdose on salt water I reunited with Jessica on the beach. It was decided the overhead sun may be a bit dangerous so we would grab a bite to eat and head back to the beach later in the afternoon. First, I parked the car on Bridge Street so we could visit a few of the unique shops. We walked down the Bradenton Pier to find half of it blocked off from faulty planks and overuse. A family was fishing under the shade at the ...

... with the girls for the last time of the visit and in the morning we walked them to the bus stop and sent them off to school. We had said our goodbyes the night before to everyone else, and after we dropped the girls off we went with Stacie to the airport. We hopped on a plane that took us to Tampa, Florida. We were home! Our friend Vince picked us up at the airport and took us back to St. Petersburg. Since I had left back on April 31st, Courtney had done a little redecorating ...
