... at about mile 8 we started to give out - it was hard work! I had read on the internet that the Lower Loop was 9 miles, but something was telling us that could not be right, given where we were. ... we booked it back - the trip back was shorter than going out. We realized we rode about 12 miles total (according to my iPhone app) - not as many as we thought, and we could have gone further. Next time we'll start at the Alamo and go all the way through the missions and back - yeah! But nonetheless it was a great ride! Of course I had to ask Kelly if he "knew the way to San Jose" on the way back...ok, never mind.
