We're now further up the coast in St. Pete's Beach, FL. Sunny Florida has gone a bit cool on us with cloudy skies. We walked on the beautiful St. Pete's beach every day, sometimes twice a day, and generally relaxed, reading and watching tv. This is a summer vacation town and there's not much else to do here, especially in the off season.

... sand castles. I snapped a photo of this older couple walking down the beach with their adult son, hand in hand just living in the moment. The water there was crystal clear and the sand was very fine and filled with many varieties of sea shells. We stayed as late as we could watching the sunset directly ahead of us dropping behind the clouds at water level. Just gorgeous! We vowed to return there and stay for a few days during our next Florida visit ...

... about some of the birds, reptiles and other animals. Those enclosures helped to make the park feel a bit dated. Also the majority of customers seemed pretty dated themselves, and the first roller coaster we went on was out of the dark ages - impressive wooden structure but genuinely scary to be hurtling along in a wheelbarrow on steroids. ... and I get a 1976 Inglebrook Cab...it was ok, but about 20 min later it opened up to heaven. This morning I had to choose between continuing my drive down to the Everglades National Park or spending the day at Busch Gardens and driving south in the evening.
