I know this road is a highway but there was some great scenic sections of it where it had been built through the mountains. It followed a river cutting with massive rock formations all around and me as usual just could not resist stopping to take a few photos.
Paul said I must not use the highway but instead use route 89 which is much more scenic. However by the time I got to the junction where I would turn off for that route the weather ...

Harvest Hosts is a overnight, no hook-up "camping" membership I first read about (and immediately joined) last year. The couple who started it have traveled in their RV all over Europe, and it's quite common there for wineries and farms to open up a limited number of overnight parking spaces to those traveling through the area in their RV. ... and much needed showers. The drive to Ephraim was always an interesting one, passing numerous turkey farms, which were more fascinating (Lee: disturbing) than they sound (check out the photos).

Overall, we had a wonderful two weeks in Maple Canyon and look forward to taking our friends (Aaron and Lara from Brisbane) back there in a couple of weeks. Now, it's time for some Idaho potatoes before heading to Wyoming for two ...

Don's had enough of the cold weather! He was awake shortly after 5 am and decided to wake me at 5:30. The weather forecasts were for clear skies today with the possibility of snow moving into the Salt Lake area by tomorrow night. We are anxious to get beyond the snow zone before the driving gets challenging. As a result we were on the road by 6 am - I hope the harvest excursion didn't start ...
