... What is so funny? This place is awful!!" moaned Dawn. I told her, just look at the ceiling. This did not add to her comfort level. She did not sleep all that well that night, especially, after we discovered that the mattress had a vinyl or rubber like cover on it, and I told her that was so that they could hose it down once in a while. I did not sleep all that well, either, visiting the bathroom at fifteen minute intervals. Hard to imagine, but things went down hill from ...

The kids went to bed, with red rimmed eyes from the swimming and the culmination of 5 days of play from sun-up to sunrise, and the grown-ups rallied from their margarita fogs for one more round of Settlers of Catan; this was going to be the game to settle the score, or leave it tied at the top if Jess or Sara managed to pull one out of the bag. Well, it was a hard fought game that lasted for over two hours, ...

... prepare for the arrival home of Jess and Sara.
When we were all reunited, everyone fed and kids tucked into bed, we sat down for our nightly ritual of an evening board game, once more it was Settlers of Catan. When we went to sleep tonight the tally stood at Tim 2, Brett 2, Sara 0, and Jess 0. The bottom of the leaderboard was not moving despite the concerted and determined efforts of Jess in particular, but the top was now a neck and neck race with one more evening to come. ...

... dinner of dumplings, steak, salads and asian soup while we watched the storm roll in over the lake with impressively inky clouds, peals of thunder and streaks of lightning which was quickly followed by torrents of water coming from the sky. Too soon, we had to round up the tired kids and bring them back to the house and put them to bed. After they went to sleep it was time for another round of Settlers of Catan. When we went to bed the tally was now: Tim 2, Brett 1, Sara 0 and Jess 0.
