The day was coming to an end so we climbed back on the bus for our 3 hour drive back to Shanghai. All in all it was an interesting, eclectic mix of tours that allowed me to learn a little more about this corner of the world, and get to know a group of international women looking to do the ...

Barely took any photos in Hangzhou as it ****** it down most of the time we were there but here are a few. Hangzhou isn't much of a wintery place really as most of the activities are based around the lake. We attempted to walk around it on my birthday but got soaked through so went to a silk museum instead. We get back to the hostel just before 2 which is just enough time for Graham to grab his backpack, say gbye and go. ... information about the history of Silk in China and the Silk Road. They have examples of the different kinds of silk and the different weaves as well as some ancient silk pieces. They had clothes from all of the different dynasties. The embroidery on the clothes is amazing, it is so intricate. Upstairs they had more modern silk clothing. The most common dresses they have are cheongsams, what people think of as the traditional Chinese dress. They also had more current ...

... Since she’s older then me, 34, then its Chinese custom for me not to call her by her real name. Thus, I’m supposed to call her by her title, Jie Jie. The other persons name is Zhang Youli. Youli means beautiful friend. We had a really long conversation. Jiejie is from Shad dong and Youli from Anhui. Youli is 21. Well anyway was excellent practice for my Chinese. I’ll talk to you all another day in China!
