After a long way by bus between Lijiang and Panzihua (Beo can talk better about it [the very windy road made me quite sick…]), we finish with the train to Chengdu, all together took almost 24hours but we got to see some beautiful scenery along the bus route.

In Chengdu we only went to see the Panda Breeding Center. Well it was not much more than a zoo. You can only see the pandas in their small enclosures or even lock inside. The only indication about you ...

Chengdu is the capital of the Sichuan province. Another mega city, this time home to 14 million people! Our first impression of the city was that it appeared to be much cleaner and the air much clearer than Beijing. Neil was very excited as this city is famous for spicy hotpots.

I found out that Charlie and Amanda were from Vancouver, and Sid had spent time there studying as well. They were all staying in the sister hostel to Chengdu Mix, called ...

I did however walk the wring way down the road to be rescued by a young man (I decided if he started anything dodgy I could take him! He was only small and a little weedy) who helped me find it. Why he was walking around at 3.30am, I still do not know but I was grateful for his help.
I walked in the hostel to find the guard/receptionist sleep. I ...

... and you don’t really see much of them past 10am. The weather was really drizzly and grey but we all headed into the huge park and followed our guide to the first enclosure. We had no idea of how close we would get to the pandas, so we were very surprised when we rounded the corner and found ourselves no less than 10 feet away from a group of four baby pandas having their breakfast! They really are magnificent animals. Even though they are very tough little animals and can ...
