... back in 1793 and 1794 by slaves in honor of their leader, Queen Victoria. The 65 steps represent the years that it took for Queen Victoria to abolish Slavery. Today we are going to climb up the stairs and learn lots about the stairs. As we got out of the cab at the Staircase it looked like on of the coolest staircases I have ever seen. ... was instantly sobering. Mostly. The parks guys grabbed their 20ft punt and spotlights then came over to the beach to collect us. We searched the waters south of the island as the tide had been coming in when we left the dinghy. We did a lap of the island west of Wardrick Wells and came up empty. It wasn't looking good. The punt dropped us off on our respective boats with the promise to resume the search at first light.

... while Liza headed back and made us some lunch.
Nothing much wrong with them. Air leaks in the lines and fact they were low on fuel meant there was a lot of rubbish in the lines. So when we fixed the air leaks the electric pump died. They had an old spare so we installed that and the generators fired right up. Busy day.
We got finished in time for the 4 o'clock beers on the beach.

... spend the night there plus the entire day tomorrow, so hey, I can't complain. We're going to the Bahamas!
