What a busy end of the week of packing, goodbyes, and getting things in order for three months away! But it's finally here... The dreaded drive to the airport and reality setting in. Not sure if it's the coffee jitters or the fact I'm sure I've forgotten something or saying goodbyes, but feeling a little anxious. Then the words no traveller wants to see on the screen at any airport.... ...

... of or resembling an erupting volcano". How about roller coaster? The media reports on events and paints a picture of impending doom. Research reveals modern aircraft are made better with improved engines and the aviation industry has improved advisory alerts and evasive flying strategies to prevent a repeat of 2010. Nonetheless, fretters do exist (I got one, I got one....)!

... and were colouring with the kids. I was the 'keeper' of the pencil crayons and every child was allowed 2- there are so many of them that it is hard to keep track and I quickly noticed that many of them had 10 pencil crayons. They would hide them and come back and ask for more- yep I was outsmarted!! Wednesday We spent the day at a village about 1 hour away doing 'medical outreach'. I left Monday morning at 10:30 am. I had planned on leaving earlier but thought I'd wait for the traffic to ease up. Good decision as it was clear sailing right to the border. Waited in line for about 30 minutes and finally got to pull my motorcycle up to the booth and hand over my passport. The customs agent seemed more bemused and amused than anything else.
