... day so far was 22 degrees, and as I've mentioned, this was a shock after the west coast and is likely to be worse going further east having looked at the forecast for Iceland (an 8 degree high max). So not to be totally British or Aussie and complain about the weather, it has been just lovely so, with the sunniest day predicted for Sunday (Mothers day for most of the world but not the UK) we headed out to Coney Island.

... sad in some parts and really interesting in others.

Next step... we crossed the New York version of the Harbour Bridge. It was a great view, and we had a nice walk. Lunch was eaten in a park looking back at Manhattan. Long day of walking so couldn't wait for bed!! Night ...

Our 6th floor room is small to the say the least - so small we couldn't both get in dragging our cases at the same time. Compact? Bijou, springs briefly to mind. Large? No! Even the pits of a place at West Haven could accommodate two of this room. However, it is right next to Central Park and we can walk Downtown from here or catch the Subway very easily.
A welcome bed nonetheless after another busy day.

We rode the subway back to Times Square and decided to do some last minute shopping. We came across some young "ladies" who were wearing nothing but body paint and a g-string. The boys were enjoying it.

While we were in one of the stores, we heard a very loud bang. It was a big clap of thunder and the heavens opened up. There had been no warning and nothing on the weather predictions. It ...
