We started the day with a Tom returning to the hotel to get more clothes!!! Off to the Bronx today! We decided to check out the Bronx zoo ... really nice zoo, lovely enclosures. We saw a mongoose, a grizzly bear and an 'Australian Magpie' :-) . It was so nice wandering around taking photos of animals again. The train ride into the Bronx was interesting too... lots of high rise apartment blocks... so ...

... Building before returning back the way we have come. The round trip is almost 2 hours and it is such a glorious day we think it was a brilliant choice. Glad we did it (and glad we didn't choose a longer cruise) we leave and head up to Times Square. ... tour began at 8 and took us along some of the same streets as before, but the city lights brought it to life as we sat on the top level of the bus in the open air! Our favorite part was driving over the Manhattan bridge and seeing the New York skyline lighting up the night sky. That was.awesome!
