Ends up he was a WWI veteran, an Army Air Corps officer and in the intelligence field. Very interesting guy. I shook his hand and thanked him for his service.

... all over town and didn't see much of interest. It looks like Ironwood is a dying town. The most exciting thing we found was the old train station. The Chamber of Commerce uses it for their offices, but that's about it. It's pretty sad. Today we crossed into the Central Time Zone. Just as we had finally gotten used to Eastern Time too. Tomorrow we're off the Duluth, MN. There is a very cool railroad museum there, so we expect to spend some time there before heading farther west. ...
