    Aligators and miles

    ... for the aligators. A splendid visit!

    The rest of the day is spent chewing up the miles - not a bad day actually with a few stops. Very hot though and we eventually got to the Days Inn hotel at Perry about 7pm.

    A lovely shower with a chance to also wash some smelly clothes left us somewhat refreshed. Straight down into the local Mexican restaurant where the food was good but the beer ever better.

    To bed at 10pm to catch an early start tomorrow!

    Leaving Florida City at 8 in the morning we headed out on Route 41 through the Everglades National Park en route to our next overnight stop in the town of Perry. En route we made a quick stop at one of the many places offering airboat tours to see the alligators for which the area is famous.     ... we could go on a walking tour to see them. So we did, it was rainy and cool but still interesting. The adults weigh in at around 700 lbs with 100lbs just being their tails.
