Another early morning. Had a waffle for breakfast. Very yummy. Left Virginia and crossed into Tennessee. After a morning break we crossed into Tennessee. ... right by the side of the road, including one that you could drive behind. Others were a good hike away. All of them were beautiful and very different. Damien was able to wade out into some of the lakes at the bottom of the falls to get a good view and better shots. There were also a couple of falls that you could walk behind. We both had a really lovely day and the weather was mild enough to be comfortable.

We take off early (8:45 a.m.) and arrive at the KOA at 4:00 p.m. (CDT) which would have been 5:00 p.m. The mountains were a piece of cake. John characterizes them as “training mountains”. Someday, we hope to have the confidence to tackle the Rockies.

We are getting excited as our day of departure draws closer. Only 2 more days and then we will be on our way to our next great adventure--or really, two adventures as first we will have the backpacking hike on the Haute Trail and then two+ weeks to visit Paris and some other sites in France.
