We now find ourselves in the town of Ridgecrest, which sits in a desert like landscape in the east of California i.e. middle of nowhere. If the Mars Exploration Rover trundled past our hotel I wouldn't think it was lost here. Had a great night sleep last night I don't know if it was the two beers I had or the fact we might finally be on American time. We loaded ourselves up at breakfast ready for the longest day on the trip. Thank God we brought along our MP3 player so we could play guess the 80’s song. Dude...standing here, surrounded by nothing than stones, far away hills, and probably a million rattlesnakes, is an experience I've never had before...
And still...I feel that comfort when u finally stand in a place u dreamed about ever since u were 11 and played Mario Kart 64 ;)
