... We're about out of daylight, it's the end of the day, we skipped the Hearst Castle as it was after 4 pm when we passed it. We decide to head inland a bit where the towns are and find a place to stay. We wound up in a city called Santa Maria. Ever heard of it? Neither had we. But we won't forget it soon.

It's in farm country, not near the coast. I do a bit of cursory searching online and find an old time hotel ...

I started the year on the 2nd with a 14 mile ride. The morning of the 3rd I rode 5 miles of wind sprints. I took the weekend off to spend time with family and watch some football. Monday ...

... looks small from the road, but surprisingly big once you get in the store. They have a lot of specialty items and very nicely priced produce. OMG they have some really good looking home made pies, yum! They also have an espresso and homemade ice cream bar. Outside they have quite a few farm animals. Horses, donkeys, chickens, goats, llamas, emus, plus a few other animals. We will come back . We continue on to the beach. We noticed there are RV sites along part ...

      Washing Day--nothing exciting

      Harlan:

Today was a 'routine boring' type day. Most exciting thing happening was watching the clothes go around in the washing machine. B got caught up on washing since we have 'full facilities' with sewer dump here in the Elks RV campground. Also spent the day getting caught up on this blog so we can go ahead and 'publish' it and send out notices for those who want to follow.

Later in the afternoon we decided to make a COSTCO run and ...
