... At one of the stops Murray spotted dolphins! They were right below us about six of them playing around and then they swam off. I had never seen wild ones like that. It made us truly smile and ready to take on the rest of our trip. So much more to see. It was a sheer drop and any gaps in the fence took your breath away. We carried on this road toward San Simeon and we stopped just before to see the huge Elephant Seals. There were easily about 100 ...

It has been a great 6 weeks here in California with Robert, Aurora, Austin and Hannah. I am leaving in the morning to drive home to Washougal. I took several photos with my phone while here and I thought I would share a little of our activities.

He took me into the greenhouse and explained that a luffa (also spelled loufah) is actually a gourd that looks like ...

... In the afternoon we arrived at Hearst Castle - a huge estate built 6 miles up on a hill by Mr Hearst a millionaire in the 1920's. Crazy place built with influences of every century in history and obscene lavish architecture. We saw where he played tennis with Charlie Chaplin and watched movies with yCarey Grant. He also had the largest private zoo in America including polar bears. All animals ...

... the county seat of Ventura County, then Oxnard. We turn off at the Springville offramp and head up the hill to home.

We had another great experience, met new and interesting folk and got to visit with our "northland" relatives. Would we volunteer at another Oregon State Park? Depends, but probably not unless we can be near our coach when on duty.

We are happy to be home once again. Let the truck, RV and yard cleanup begin!
