... and waffles, served with sautéed kale. The waffles were awesome, the chicken was good, and the kale was great! All in all, I rolled out of there and needed a nap when we got back to the apartment. The next adventure up was a trip to Santa Barbara, and a visit with my friends Aaron and Lizzie. ... in bed, about to go to sleep, I remembered I had told Sarah* I would come out to the wardroom tonight since it was her last night after her 6 month contract (she is going home with Debbie* and I tomorrow). Ahwell. These one week contracts are hard to establish connections and friendships with people, but I invited her to crash on our couch as she plans on visiting the US and she invited me to stay with her in England if I ever travel there. WHEN I ever travel ...

... One of Patti's books describes them as looking like a frisbee designed by Salvador Dali! This one was about three foot across and laying on it's side. Which is what they do. We missed hitting it by inches. They can get to be 10 feet and weigh 3000 pounds or more. We had never seen one before so it was a very exciting thing to see!
