Today was one of those days we will always remember. We drove to Huntington Beach, the home of the Museum of Surfing. Gorgeous beach and lots going on. Volleyball nets all over the beach and surfers catching waves alongside the pier. One thing we thought strange were the oil rigs not far offshore.

We went to Newport Beach for whale watching. We paid the extra for the VIP pass which allowed us ...

... leaving early evening we took a trip to Venice Beach and walked from there up to the Santa Monica Pier. Was a really nice, but long, walk and as it was overcast when we left we were all stupid enough to forget about suncream! All looking like lobsters for the next few days! First sunburn in a long time! After some lunch and watching some street dancing show it was time to leave LA for 5 days in Vegas ...

... WTF?! Sadly, no time for a French dipped sandwich at Philippes. After the hertz debacle, we had timed tour tickets at the Warner brothers studio to get to and got stuck in the famous LA traffic. Spent a few hours on the same studio lot that Charles Sheen is banned from!  Where the movie and TV stars come and go everyday...  Well every other day.  I picked Sunday like a big ...

... days. We have been getting use to semi dodgy food in Peru and such. We hit this place and suddenly its sugar overload. I knew American's like everything Large, but its a bit over the top. I got one dish that would have fed a family of Fennells! Now that's saying something. Its a good thing we are living soon or we would be quickly back up to the post XMAS waist size.
