      ... We were kind of expecting to be able to sit on the Hollywood sign like in the old school movies so were a tad disappointed to see it from so far away. The only way to get closer would be by hiking for 2 hours and we didn't really have time (and we have done enough hiking for a while by our standards)!       ... to the airport at 20:00. I needed to check in 3 hours before departure but like Melbourne my bags were tagged and given back to me to wait to see if I could get on the flight!       ... each day) we finally made it to Flagstaff, the gateway town to the Grand Canyon south rim, and I must say the 60 dollar a night(including breakfast) Travelodge in the highway was a godsend and we all slept like babies that night!
