... sleeved shirt and shorts, and it was cloudy, cool with occasional rain in Chicago. The city is stunning with the ultra modern sky scrapers mixed with many classic buildings from the last 100 to 150 years. The parks are beautifully kept with lots of flower beds, trees and interesting art works. ... was opened to let in some cool air after all the lunch time cooking. A cold snap is forecast for next week with maximums around -10C. ... off the plane pretty much last being right down the back, but by the time we found the luggage carousel our bags were just going by (smooth sailing....) so we grabbed them and started following the red "shuttle" signs. We went down an elevator......... Through the dungeons of the airport........ Up an elevator......... But for the life of us could not find a sign that said 1E, 2E or bloody 3E......... ... about as we enjoyed a late dinner. We had a terrific day but really just scratched the surface of this great city.

Family Folklore: After the boat tour we were starving. We came upon a California Pizza Kitchen and had a lovely dinner. There was a terrific breakfast at our hotel. When the waitress heard we were on a road trip she loaded us up with muffins, fruit and yogurt parfaits.
