Very impressed with this Rodeway Inn. We had a bad experience with one earlier in our vacation. Glad we gave them a try again.

Buddy began feeling sick on our way to Lexington so we stopped in a gas station in Lincoln. I was able to refill the Volkswagen's tank ($35.85) and get some rest. After a few hours past, Buddy starting feeling better and so we drove down ...

They say that the route to good health is; "to breakfast like a king, lunch like a lord and dine like a pauper." We have already reported a stupendous breakfast or two on this blog. There was the memorable 'Continental Plus' at Bob’s Rocking Horse Inn and the less noteworthy ‘Continental Minus’ at the Clarion Hotel in Iowa City. We made it to Maggie's hometown of Ainsworth around 5pm, and were welcomed by her brother Larry, sister-in-law Judy, and nephew Dave (affectionately known around town as Simp or Screech). Also, we were fortunate that the prevailing winds were from the south, so no nasty smells from the cattle feedlots north of town. We can only hope it stays that way. Maggie's 40th high school reunion activities start ...

Before we left brother Rick's house, Mike decided to try a 15-mile bike ride up and down the gravel roads in the area. It was a great tune-up for his upcoming charity ride in the hills of NC in mid-July. These 15 miles were much tougher than the 23 around the ...

Early this morning we (yes, Maggie, too) biked 11 miles around Johnson Lake, and this time with a tour guide. One of the locals rode with us through the fog to show us new parts of the trail. The fog was so thick, we had to keep stopping to wipe off our glasses. And our arms and legs were covered with beads of water. Lunch was at a local bait and tackle/cafe and bar, which, by the ...
