      ... stops. Dist., carb, and a flat tire. Par for a Model A outing. We stopped in Dawson at a old gas station turned into a home. The people were real nice giving us a tour of their home. We also stopped at Harkins machine shop. See the pictures I drove 253 miles today and got 18.75 ...

      The countdown is on. Shots are finished, passport arrived, new luggage, camera and we are off. I hope the weather is great as we travel to North Dakota to get on the plane. Traveling north in the winter is always iffy.
      I could even pack my bags now if need be. I don't think I will be needing sandals and capri's here with the weekend temps to reach -30 :).

      ... wagon rides would begin. But no one was there so we walked around the farm ourselves.


      Out to the wheat field and oat and the corn fields to the prairie grasses and past the slough down to the school house which we explored and enjoyed. All of this was completely by ourselves.

      We returned to the office and turned in our key, did some shopping and then I mentioned I was sad to have missed the wagon ...

      ... As a variation in our culinary routine, we're having Truzzilino's Tamales tonight. They've patiently ridden along in the freezer, just waiting to help us out here in South Dakota.

      Tomorrow we'll have another fairly long day, what with the NE wind and traveling west. We'll be making another "left turn" at Sioux Falls and then on to Oacoma. Should be interesting...
