Hello! We got home safely yesterday and I was too tired to blog when I got back. So I am typing this now, while I am in bed this morning. ... out is called Nob Hill, lol) for what felt like hours (and included many breaks for our legs) we ended up on the top of San Francisco. Of course then we realised we had to go back down the hill the other way to get to our hostel, thus rendering the whole climb entirely unnecessary. Excellent. Didn't even have a decent view to make up for it. Anyway we took our bikes back and went back to the hostel to shower and tend to our sun burn, ouch. Which brings us to now. Wine ...
Seattle was completely different from the wilderness we had thoroughly explored in Glacier and Yellowstone National Park. It is a big green city surrounded by forests and water. We stayed at a lovely airbnb just outside the city center and here we met up with Francesca who was going to join us for Seattle, San Francisco and San Diego. The weather in Seattle was great and there was a festival going on which transformed the whole city into a bunch of music loving hippies. Seeing ...
... sign “all gates” … well this must mean us. Up we went and there I was like Alice in Wonderland. Duty Free shops and NICE ones … oh boy has LAX changed.
We walked for what seemed like an eternity – all the food vendors in the food court area had filtered coffee and I wanted a latte. I eventually saw someone heading our way with a Starbucks cup so I went in the direction from which he came and there it was. ...
... about 600mm tall and would not look out of place as a roast dinner.
We jumped on the hop on/off bus for a tour of another part of the city and finally ended up back at the wharf. Jumping in Ethel and setting the on board video, we managed to do a ****** video of a Golden Gate Bridge crossing (stay tuned for the video).
Home and feet up for the evening as we had an early start on Monday... :)
