    ... trip at least a dozen times to my childhood home on long island. In the 70's the smell of rubber was so strong as you passed through Akron, Ohio. Today all the manufacturing (and many of the jobs) are gone. Passing Goodyear World HQ reminded me of those days almost 40 years ago.

We thought about sailing down because the wind would be in our favour, but the river is not straight, there are many big cruising power boats who don't care about their wakes and there are barges and tankers as well.     ... City for a few days and take a ferry over to visit Manhattan and surrounding areas while waiting for the next window. We will take the dinghy and go into Marlboro to see what there is to see and charge my computer during lunch.     ... club and a BBQ. The boys had great fun on the sit-on electric cars round the garden. Chris then very popular for suggesting (despite the heat) a fire in Oliver's sand pit so the boys could have S'mores (huge marshmallows, sandwiched between a cookies with a slice of Hershey chocolate). Ughh. Much wine before bed. W complaining of a cut toe (scraped in the pool) so he ends up sleeping with J and R shares T's double bed. Only Mummy's singing would calm W down. Apparently I ...
