... to my iPod and I would fall asleep again. Mah woke up once at the same time, around 7am, so we got freshened up for the day & I took some photographs of train life. Mah talked to me for awhile, which was nice & then we critiqued some of the photos I had taken over the trip and discussed how I could use them for upcoming projects. We got off the train at the last stop at around 9:40 in the morning & found our tour guide. She was a little woman with a very loud ...

After Tai Chi we went up to the “Book Bar” to ...

After working so hard at Tai Chi and then being told to be peaceful while working on calligraphy, many of us were getting tired. We all enjoyed the calligraphy though, it was nice to work at something we were a little more familiar with. While practicing calligraphy, Professor Zeng served us all a special tea, which was ...

Day Four: Shanghai and Dalian

A travel blog entry by kari_middendorf on Jun 08, 2014

Today we woke up at 6:00 to finish packing our bags and to double check that we had everything ready for our flight to Dalian, which is in northern China compared to Shanghai. We were unaware of the size/weight restrictions on luggage, so Mah let us use his luggage scale. Then we were off to the airport! A long trail of red (we all have matching red t-shirts) traveled through the street, our luggage clunking on the sidewalk. We made it to the subway station and luckily all got on this ...
