    ... We could live without the sewer hookup, wi-fi and cable, but water is kind of important. We both had enough fresh water in our holding tanks to use the bathroom, but nothing else. They have fresh water available to carry to your campsite. We only had to pay $12 for the night, so we decided we could manage. We have been a couple of days without cell phone service, and that’s a little unsettling.

    ... as I was pacing them. After a bit, they asked if I wanted a ride to Montrose. The thought of skipping 4 days of biking through farmland, drinking muddy water, and getting into the canyon was irresistible. We loaded up and took off.
