... but the magic show was cancelled, bummer). Tricia and I entertained Jim with a synchronized kayaking display - it was quite a lovely thing! Had dinner in the cabin and I slept on the pull out couch - very comfy!

Sunday morning Jim drove to a place to dig crystals on his way to Austin, and Tricia and I drove to Devil's Den State Park in West Fork, AR to find more adventure!

... 15 years it is hard to imagine going to a restaurant and not being able to order a glass of wine or a beer, but now I don't have to worry about that when I go home (now I just worry about it when I go to the Middle East!) and neither do you.

... early explorers, Indians. So fascinating to see the historical significance of these areas. We left St. Charles and continued to the end of the Katy. We rode to Machens. On the map it shows it connects to a highway. We get to the end of the trail and there was just a pile of boulders, no continuing road. It is out in the middle of nowhere by a train track. I suggested that we sleep here, it was late. Then three trains roared ...

The other night we pulled into a quaint historic town called Hardy, Arkansas and we were directed to the local campground run by the volunteer fire dept.. There was one other RV in the small campground that sat beside a scenic river. Sure we did cross over railroad tracks but the little station beside them was really cool (see photo)

Getting Manipulated by the Nephew

... if he just needed someone to do the chopping through the woods. Kinda funny he had the little hand saw laying in the bed of the 4-wheeler. I think I got took by a nephew again.

We spent the rest of the day at the cabin talking and went in and out of the woods a few times before heading home. Sitting around the camp fire and enjoying the day outdoors was a lot of fun.

I went home tired and worn out ... but I'm glad the nephew was well rested.
