    ... 2800 metres above sea level in the Rockies and it was freezing in the evening. The air was very thin and a few of our party were becoming a bit breathless doing nothing! They expect snow in Silverton in 2 to 3 weeks time which will last until next May. Near by are several ski resorts.

    My bed was lovely and warm but kept waking up with a headache - something to do with the altitude (or was it that beer in the jugs?)

    ... Junction took over after sunset and we wound down to Fruita.

    We killed a rabbit.
    Well, the rabbit actually killed himself and the truck tire was the means of his Hari Kari.

    Shower. Sleep. Green River Melons and Oatmeal for breakfast. Truck detail and Peggy and I were rolling once again.

    Thus ended my "day or two" in Grand Junction. I can not express the extent of my thankfulness to ma nouvelle famille de western CO.

    ... I do not know, but we did! We sampled locally made chocolate and cakes, honey and other foods; went to an "authentic" Irish pub (where their "oral delights" and "spicy leprechaun balls" were...interesting?) which served fish and chips...pub food in 'Murcia!
