Ottawa is a very livable city with locals shopping at the By Ward Market (reminds me of Markets England !). Ottawans (is that what you call someone living in Ottawa??) love the outdoors, commuting by bike (skating in winter!) jogging etc.

... The Rideau Canal is 200km long and was built after the War between Canada and the USA in the early 18 hundreds. It was build to link Ottawa to Kingston as a easy and supply route. We walked back to the parliament building where we meet for our tour. We had a big group of probably close to 50 people and the tour went for 45 minutes. Our favourites were definitely the bears and the arctic wolves! Sadly there were no beavers to be seen.
