      By 8:21 a.m. we had crossed the line into Arkansas on route 40. The gently rolling hills and rich pastures took us past well-manicured homes and stately farms. There were several large churches in each town we came to. By 2 p.m. we'd left Arkansas and hit Memphis, which I saw briefly as we blew through.       ... it up as a tourist site. On the premises, they have added a distiller, restaurant, lodge, and a gift store.

      Galen and I took a day trip to downtown Nashville to visit places like Tootsie's, Ryman Auditorium, Musicians Hall of Fame, ate some great BBQ and walked our shoes off!!! We then went to the Opryland Hotel and took off to the mall for some very good Mexican Food before heading to the Grand Ole Opry to see country stars like Carrie Underwood and Trace Atkins.

      ... when I am passed by a semi! Every axle of wheels splashes me, but I am OK with that, I am thankful to have his mass in front of me like a big cow catcher in case there is something on the road, and also appreciate his tail lights to follow.

      ... so had to re-route. Not much off road work but we expected this in Tennessee.
      Found the Jack Daniels brewery and had a fleeting look inside.
      lovely scenery and loads of Eagles, squirrels and a little very red bird was a common sight.

      ... Martin Methodist College were kind enough to shuttle our riders the 92 MILES to the next site! Unbelievable!!

      Before the shuttles could get us, though, we had time to follow through with a plan our group had days back, involving roster pictures and the official NC2SD Bike & Build website. It was. Everything. Best idea ever.
