    We had intended an earlyish start from Vegas to get back to Santa Monica in good time for dropping the car off but the late night, the bottle of champagne and the blackout blinds in the room put paid to that as we slept in rather late and ended up sailing quite close to the allowed checkout time of 11am!     ... Venice beach broad walk had a load of stalls on both sides of the pavement. It was very much like Camden town stalls. After the beach we had had enough of LA and we drove to jackies house.     We continued rolling along until we got to Malibu. I have to say, it was one of the ugliest places we have seen on the trip. There is no beach access at all.
