... The wooden boardwalk has been replaced by a concrete path that runs right along the coast. A lot of the houses have been reconstructed, this time they are up on high piers. A safeguard of any more hurricanes that will no doubt one day happen.
A quick trip through Mississippi and we were now entering Alabama where we were to stay for two nights before heading into Florida for the weekend to see our lovely young friend get married.

The next photo is of me with an artillery shell from the USS Alabama. My caption needs a bit of explanation, though. I DO own a WWII practice shell that's about 20" tall. I call it my "bullet," and bought it at a yard sale some years ago. So . . . this bullet is bigger than mine.

... right? We had been faithful all Feast and here we were stuck without a vehicle, barely able to get it back to the shop. Turns out it needed a new alternator as well, which brings us to our current state. We have had no choice but to stay two extra nights, and may be needing to stay an additional night to get our car up to standards.
Did I mention we were pretty much car-less all Feast? We had to ride with my in-laws anywhere we needed or wanted to ...
Finally a warm morning!! We did our usual walk, but part of the 4 miles we did was on the beach. This is a good workout!! We came back to the house and sat out on the deck enjoying the sun. We even ate lunch there. Even though it clouded up a bit, we went back out to the beach to walk. The sun ended up coming out and it was a nice afternoon. We walked another 2 1/2 ...
