    ... it's been a long day for Andy to drive. We jumped on the I44 which was a toll section, had to get our toll ticket and paid for it at Will Rogers Turnpike, but would get a refund at Claremore the next junction off (only $2) and back on to Route 66 to find our stay for the night.     ... in chili on on second one. So far the experiment has been a success. Food has cooked without a hitch and clean up has been easy too. The only drawback is the food smells so good cooking, while we are driving down the road that we get really hungry.

I think, considering the downturn BSprings seems to be experiencing they could have kept this gem open and staffed with volunteers made it a real drawcard for the town. We didn't know we have crossed the border until we realised the next town we passed through (Quapaw) was in OK. That is when we thought "Toto, I don't think we are in Kansas anymore"...
