... be taking the car in the middle of the night for a bathroom break! The only thing preventing me from sleeping is the sound of a train in the distance. I wondered what huge beast of an animal was in the distance- then heard the train "hoot hoot". It wasn't an owl :-) Driving here there are small Oil rigs in back gardens, gun shops, and firework stores everywhere - not forgetting ads for casinos. Actually that's OK since I'm not really into pottery ...

Well, I-10 and I-12 are in no better shape than last trips. It's like riding a roller coaster for 2 hours. Luckily I-49 was much better. We took I-49 North to line up with Hwy 380 in Texas. This is a small 2 lane highway to nowhere. Roswell, The Very Large Array, Valley of the Fires and the Painted Desert are accessible from this road.

... Repairs will have to be made on the road, because I have to be in Washington, DC, by the end of the week. Apart from the leak everything seems to be okay, as Lacey, my dog, and I pull away with waves to a couple of neighbors.

We hit I-20... my mind has been in overdrive. "What have I forgotten?" It usually comes to ...
